St. Joseph Parish is pleased to extend our hospitality to the Pilgrim Icon of St. Joseph on Monday, May 1 – the memorial of St. Joseph the Worker. Several such icons were blessed by Pope Francis following the Year of St. Joseph and assigned to the Knights of Columbus. Each is a beautiful commemoration of the “Just Man” to whom God entrusted the Virgin Mary and his Divine Son, Jesus.
Schedule of the day:
8:30 a.m.: The day will begin with Mass, at which the Relic and the Pilgrim Icon, will be exhibited.
9:45-11:45 a.m.: the Relic and the Icon will be in the sanctuary for silent veneration by the faithful.
12:15 p.m.: Mass. At the conclusion of the Mass, Mr. Brian V. Caulfield, Vice Postulator for the Cause of Bl. Michael McGivney, will offer a presentation on the life and cause of Bl. Michael McGivney, his relevance to American Catholics today.
1:00-6:30 p.m., the Relic and the Icon will be exposed for veneration by the faithful.
1:30 p.m.: Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph-Bishop Baldwin Council prayer service.
7:00 p.m.: Mass. At the conclusion of the Mass, Mr. Brian V. Caulfield, Vice Postulator for the Cause of Bl. Michael McGivney, will again offer a presentation on the life and cause of Bl. Michael McGivney, his relevance to American Catholics today.
At the conclusion of the presentation, the congregation will be blessed with the Relic, and the Day of Veneration will end.
