Starting next Friday, January 19, many prayerful and inspirational pro-life events will take place here in Garden City, Hempstead, and throughout Long Island and our nation. These events are related to the 51ST annual March for Life in Washington, DC, which will attract hundreds of thousands of United States citizens who recognize the inestimable value and dignity of every human life. Notre Dame Church in New Hyde Park will be sending a chartered bus to Washington and are inviting parishioners from our parish to join them. The bus will leave Notre Dame at 5AM and return to Notre Dame at 9PM. Call 516-248-8284.
- On Friday, January 19, 2024, from 11 AM to noon, participate in a One Hour Prayer Vigil at Planned Parenthood, 540 Fulton Ave., Hempstead. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s leading abortion business; funded in large part by U.S. citizens’ tax dollars totaling more than a half-billion dollars each year. Babies are aborted at this location.
- 12:15 PM, participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at St. Joseph’s Church
- 1 PM – 3 PM, participate in Eucharistic Adoration in St. Joseph’s Church
- 1 PM – 4 PM – Complimentary Pro-Life Luncheon in the St. Agnes Room. Welcoming St. Joseph parishioners and prolifers from neighboring parishes to join us for sandwiches and drinks while watching the live broadcast of the March for Life on a big-screen television.
- Sunday, January 21 – following the 5:30 PM Mass at St. Joseph Church, listen to the winning essays which will be presented by students of the St. Joseph 7th and 8th grade school and Religious Ed.
