We are pleased to announce that our Parish Lenten Project this year will benefit SNACK*--(Special Needs Activities Program for Children and Adults) located in Manhattan.
The program was started in 2003 by the parents of a special needs son for whom socialization and enrichment programs did not exist. SNACK*, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, aims to fill a void in the lives of children, teens and adults with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental and behavioral disabilities by providing after school and weekend recreational programs designed and staffed to address their needs. SNACK* also provides prevocational training and supported employment opportunities.
SNACK*offers a variety of group and individual activities to provide the participants with the help they need to thrive, the opportunity to make friends, improve skill levels, build confidence and have some fun!
Please visit the program’s website www.snacknyc.com for more information. Also, program founder and director Jackie Ceonzo was recently interviewed on Good Morning America for their series Trailblazing Women. The episode aired on 1/6/25 and you can view it on the GMA website. And please mark your calendars for our Lenten Project Speakers Weekend March 22-23 when Jackie and others from SNACK* will speak after all of the Masses to tell us more about the work that they do.
