The parish of Saint Joseph is delighted to be celebrating Monsignor James Swiader’s Golden Jubilee, marking his 50th anniversary as a priest. Monsignor has dedicated 19 years of those 50 years to our parish of Saint Joseph. He has become a beacon of light to our parish, school and community and everything he does reflects his deep love for the teachings of Jesus Christ.

As chairs of the Parish Jubilee Committee, Lorraine and I invite all parishioners, past parishioners of parishes served by Monsignor, his past students at the seminaries , Molloy College , his family, and his friends to join us in this Golden Jubilee celebration during this holy Jubilee year of Hope.

On April 27, 2025, Monsignor will celebrate the 10:30AM Mass; this being the 50th anniversary of the first mass he celebrated at his home parish, the Church of the Holy Spirit.

Following the Mass everyone is invited to a Jubilee celebration brunch in the school gymnasium from 11:30 AM to 3 PM.

Monsignor Swiader has informed us that he will be retiring and his last day in the parish will be June 25, 2025, so, in addition to celebrating his Jubilee, this celebration is an excellent opportunity to bid Monsignor farewell and good wishes as he embarks on the next phase of his life journey.

The Jubilee party is sponsored by generous parishioners. If you would like to contribute, please contact us, or email Barbara Stay. Alternatively, you can write a check to the Church of Saint Joseph with the ‘Jubilee party’ written on the memo line and send it to Barbara Stay at the rectory

We look forward to seeing you at the 50th Jubilee celebration for Monsignor James Swiader on April 27th. Please come and celebrate with us. May God continue to bless and guide our pastor, Monsignor Swiader, now and always.

Faithfully, your fellow parishioners,
Lorraine and Joseph Levano
Vivat Jesus!
