1 June 2020

Dear parishioners and friends,

Thank you for your prompt responses regarding Friday afternoon Eucharistic Adoration. I am happy to say that as of Friday, June 5, we will resume Adoration, 1-3:00 p.m. in the church proper, not in the loggetta, to provide for wider distancing. We will continue to observe the directives regarding appropriate distancing and face masks.
Adoration will begin with an opening prayer, followed by silent personal prayer. It will conclude with a final prayer, Benediction and the Divine Praises, recited softly. We have been directed to refrain from singing.
Please pass the word to others who might be interested.

Again, a reminder: regularly scheduled confessions will resume on Saturday, June 6. Confessions will be heard in the loggetta, 1-2:00 p.m., accessed through the Fourth Street vestibule. If the door is open, you are free to enter, taking a seat in the back row of chairs. The priest will be sitting in the front row of chairs, diagonally across the room, facing the tabernacle. To preserve anonymity, he will not turn around but will speak over his shoulder. We will also put a screen between penitent and priest. If the door is closed, there might be another penitent receiving Reconciliation. Please wait until the door is left open. Confessions can also be arranged for other times & dates by calling the rectory and making an appointment with one of the priests.

As new directive come out from the diocese/state, I will keep you up-dated. It is my sincere hope that we will be able to offer Mass that would allow for greater attendance and for the reception of Communion by all our people.

Yours sincerely in Christ Jesus,

James P. Swiader
