Please donate blood at our Fall drive sponsored by Bishop Baldwin Council, Knights of Columbus, on Sunday, October 4, 2020.
Our world has changed. We find new ways to connect, work, play, learn and support each other. Prior to COVID-19, community blood drives like ours accounted for 75% of the region’s incoming blood supply. Blood is needed every two seconds to meet the daily transfusion needs of cancer and surgery patients, accident and burn victims, newborns and mothers delivering babies. From organ transplants to heart surgeries, today’s advanced medical care relies on blood from volunteer donors. At this unprecedented time, donating blood is one thing you can do to help someone who desperately needs it.
We understand you may be concerned about donating blood but the NY Blood Center has trained their staff in universal precautions to help prevent the risk of spreading infection including temperature checks, facial coverings, social distancing, appointments to assure there are not to many people at the drive at one time, cleaning procedures for all public surfaces and even single serve refreshments.
This is our opportunity as a parish community to help when we are needed most. Please schedule an appointment to make a difference in as many as 3 people’s lives.
