PARISH SOCIAL MINISTRY

We would like to inform you, the parishioners of St. Joseph’s and our benefactors, about the direct service that has been provided with your assistance during the months of January through June 2016. As you may know, the Parish Social Ministry office provides assistance to people in need from Hempstead who seek our help.

During the first six months of this year, we served 528 clients: 93 children, 418 adults, 17 seniors.

Total number of services provided: 568 (These services include provision of supermarket gift cards, assistance with shelter and utility payments, basic needs of living, health related expenses, transportation costs, and advocacy.)

Total expenditures for client needs: $20,556.13
This work could not have been accomplished without your concern, support and prayers. Your monthly contributions to our parish food drives, your donations of clothing and other items, and your participation in our holiday programs make our corporate response to those in need possible.

In a few weeks we will begin this year’s SPONSOR A FAMILY program for Thanksgiving. While you do not personally know the 528 clients cited above, you do know that they represent the poverty and desperation of those who live in our neighboring parishes. Once again we will count on your generosity to provide festive holiday meals to our neighbors in need who rely on St. Joseph’s Parish to make their holiday a happy occasion.

We are grateful for your faithful support of the work of St. Joseph’s Parish Social Ministry and count on your continued concern and prayers for those we serve in your name. Thank you!
Gratefully, Anna Sirianni Parish Social Ministry
