Sunday, October 27, 2013 the St. Joseph's Parish Adult Faith Formation Board
presents the first of the 2013-2014 series
Movies for a Sunday Afternoon ~ 2PM in the St. Agnes Room
The first film presented will be VISION:HILDEGARD OF BINGEN, a film about the life of a 12th Century nun who in 2012, 833 years after her death, was canonized and designated a Doctor of the church. Hildegard, who lived in what is now Germany, was a woman well ahead of her time. She was a gentle revolutionary who excelled as an abbess, physician, theologian and composer, and whose prophetic visions filled volumes.
We Welcome Dr. Lillian Bozak-Deleo, Professor at Molloy College, who will provide a brief introduction to St. Hildegard prior to the showing of the film, and lead a discussion of the film afterward. Dr. Bozak-DeLeo reeceived her PhD in the History of Theology from Marquette University. Her special academic interest is medieval woman mystics.
